I identified insects, spiders, shells, and so on appeared in the “Keimo-Chufu-Zukai”, that is, the illustrated reference book edited by Toshiyasu Maeda, the tenth feudal lord of Toyama in the late Edo period. About 400 illustrations were drawn in the “Keimo-Chufu-Zukai”. About 75 % of those illustrations were insects, about 15 % were small animals such as spider and shells, and the remaining were natural products. Twenty four of those illustrations were pictured with localities. Eight insects, a shell, a spider and a sow bug were recorded from the domain of Toyama.
